The summer sixteen playlist has just gotten hotter as upcoming rapper GRIP releases his new smash hit, “Chanel”.
The breakout song has a catchy hook and creative wordplay perfect for the nightlife scene this summer. The new single boasts about treating a potential love interest better than her current boyfriend by travelling with her and showering her in gifts like Chanel.
The indie artist, repping his very own label Boat Life, drops hit lines throughout the track to remind his new lover that he is indeed the guy to live a lavish lifestyle. The repetitive chorus “I’m gonna buy you Chanel, I’m gonna buy you Chanel” is one you will not forget.
GRIP needed no assist on this track; He carries the song from beginning to end. GRIP, whose real name is Kadeem Perry, is a senior majoring in English at UCF. The upcoming graduate has generated a following on campus for his music. In 2015, his music video for single “15 dollars” received over 7,000 views on YouTube. He also has opened for other hip-hop musical acts in the past such as Kevin Gates, SchoolBoy Q and The Underachievers. He is looking to break into the hip-hop scene heavy this summer with ‘Chanel’. The track was produced by Jacob Lethal.
